About Echo Hill & Me

A number of years ago, my daughter wanted a horse for her birthday. We felt that a cat would be more manageable and so we set out to find that dream baby. After looking at cat books and attending cat shows, the Silver Persian stole our hearts. I purchased a young female silver and we took her to a cat show and got some ribbons! Then we were asked to breed her to lovely boy for pick of litter kitten. At this point my interest in the cat fancy was strong and we purchased a few more cats. I was fortunate to have a knowledgeable mentor to assist me. I loved showing, meeting people at shows, and raising babies. It was a family hobby, and my children participated in it. The cats were never a business, always part of our family. I soon learned the responsibility of finding good homes for our offspring.

Although I loved and bred other colors in the Persian palette, I always came back to Silver. We added an Exotic shorthair to our cat family. 20 years ago I bred two silvers that carried golden together, and produced our first golden kitten. So, shorthair or long, Silver or Gold, they have been an important part of my life. My children are adults, both are pet parents to 3 cats each.

The cattery is in our home. Kittens are born in my bedroom, raised underfoot and socialized. I keep a wait list for kittens. I do not take deposits on unborn kittens. If you are local, you can visit and pick out your kitten. We can arrange delivery to destinations farther than driving distance with a pet nanny. Email with any questions and I will answer promptly.
