| ECHO HILL specializes in silver and
golden Exotics
and Persians. Silvers are the "glamour pusses"
of the cat world. They are prized for their white fur,
tipped in black, large green eyes and red noses outlined
in black, emphasizing a sweet expression. Persians sport
a long flowing coat, while Exotics wear a plush, shorter
coat, like a chinchilla. Both require grooming, but the
Exotic coat is less work. All cats have been PKD DNA
tested and only negative cats are used in the breeding
program. If you wish to own one of our
kittens or adults, ask to be included on our waiting
list.
Pamela Hill of Echo Hill Exotics lives in Lafayette, California, east of San Francisco. In 1973,
she purchased a silver Persian female as a pet for her daughter, who wanted a "show kitty". She actually won a few ribbons, and
was loved dearly. She left us at the ripe old age of 21. She only had
one litter, but that stimulated Pam's interest. On the other hand,
her daughter became interested in boys, so her participation waned.
She met Dorie Weston, of Walnut Hill fame, who became a good friend and
she acquired a few Walnut Hill kitties. Her cattery name was Ahna. In 1987,
Pam bought a silver Exotic male from Pahlewi, remarried, moved and changed
her cattery name to Echo Hill. A busy year! Since then
she has focused on silver Exotics. Although the cattery is a hobby, it is a demanding one.
Her cats are cherished members of her family. Echo Hill
has three to five litters a year.
